Every year, millions of plastic paint containers become waste. What if your next container was made from 100% recycled plastic?

The NetherlandsPackagingPP recycling for plastic buckets

Success story:
The paint packaging industry is facing new EU regulations requiring higher recycled content by 2030 and beyond (35% by 2030 and 65% by 2040). Meeting these targets without compromising quality represents a major challenge.

Veolia’s PlastiLoop partnered with Royal Van Wijhe Verf and Dijkstra Plastics to create the world’s first plastic paint container made entirely from 100% post-consumer recycled polypropylene (PP). This partnership has been technically successful thanks to the use of a dedicated PlastiLoop grade, engineered for high impact resistance and injection molding compatibility.

Produced at Veolia’s certified Dutch facilities in Vroomshoop, the container passed rigorous real-world tests, including sand and water drop simulations, ensuring durability and safety. This closed-loop partnership reduces CO₂ emissions by an average of 70% compared to virgin plastic, fully aligned with the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) targets.

PlastiLoop’s solution is scalable and replicable across industries, helping brands meet regulatory demands while advancing Veolia’s GreenUp strategy for ecological transformation.
